I've followed Turpentine Valley through every release, caught them live more than once, and shared a few beers and laughs with Kristof, Roel and Thomas along the way! So there’s genuine excitement in the air to see that the boys are back in town with a new single, List, offering us the first taste of their forthcoming album Veuel. With momentum building, now feels like the perfect time to take a closer look at what Turpentine Valley have delivered with this first track from the album.

With List, the Belgian Trio continue to affirm their place within Europe’s ever-evolving post-music landscape. The track drifts in gently, built on soft, open chords and weightless textures that carry a quiet emotional pull, drawing the listener into its orbit, and just like on Alder and Etch patience is payed off in spades!

When the heaviness comes rolling in, it arrives as a slow implosion rather than an outburst. It's menacing and very Turpentine Valley! The tone is dense and oppressive and totally addictive. It’s within this push and pull, between tenderness and sheer mass, that List finds its power. Every shift and every subtle tempo change is deliberate and engaging, allowing the track to expand even as it bears down on you. Closing with a vocal-like battle hymn, it really does whet the appetite for what is to come in 2026.

Visually, the artwork reads almost as a continuation of previous releases, extending the same stark, atmospheric language that mirrors the music’s tension and restraint. Immersive and quietly crushing, List leaves a sense of weight that’s felt and heard long after its sudden end"
