Coastlands - Feeding (single)

Feeding,” the latest single from Coastlands, marks a stunning evolution in their sound, interweaving their post-rock roots with bold shoegaze textures and a newfound vocal presence. The track opens in a haze of delay-drenched guitars and cinematic atmosphere, gradually revealing layers of haunting melodies and perfectly restrained power. The sound is big and expansive, but at the same time it feels airy and weightless, if that makes sense! It's like watching a storm roll in from the vast Atlantic ocean, beautiful to look at, but devastating at the same time
What sets “Feeding” apart from previous releases is Jason's is vocals, which are subtle, almost ghostly, but emotionally direct. They don’t overpower the instrumental landscape, but complement it, adding a human fragility to the song’s soaring dynamics. The production is tight and immersive, with the guitars and drums working in unison, providing a grounded pulse that anchors the track’s more sweeping elements.
At just under four minutes, “Feeding” manages to feel both epic and intimate, and never overstays its welcome. It’s a tightly controlled track that's moody, immersive, and emotionally resonant, promising plenty from Coastlands’ upcoming self-titled album. Welcome back guys!
